About the YAI SW Advisory Council: The Advisory Council, which consists of a group of 12-17-year old youth, are responsible for helping to plan, market, and implement the 2020 Young Advocates Institute Southwest. The Advisory Council spends roughly a year developing and building their leadership and social justice engagement capacity.

YAI SW is a youth-led social justice summit that empowers and trains youth. The purpose of YAI SW is to give youth a voice, the opportunity to share their experiences regarding social justice issues, and to help them become an integral part of the solutions.
During this daylong event, we will discuss violence intervention/prevention, advocacy, and how to create change. Topics include sexual and domestic violence, racial justice, and LGBTQ violence and safety.
