Remembering Murder Victims

We will begin our walk from the Lomita and continue to the Church Plaza for a prayer and candle light vigil.

Candles will be provided.

Wednesday, Sept. 23rd, 4-6pm bring your loved ones picture to the PYT building to create a memory poster.

We encourage you to share your stories and any memories. This will be a time of remembrance and tribute to those we have lost to violence.

Santa Cruz County Domestic Violence Conference

This one day conference is designed for first responders, law enforcement, victim advocates, behavioral health professionals, DES, health professionals, social workers, victims and perpetrators services providers, media, faith based community, counselors, crisis intervention, school personnel, survivors of domestic violence, and all who care for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. They are happy to have the opportunity to offer you these series of lectures that will be shared by invited experts on each topic.

The food during the lunch hour is part of the event without cost to all participants. No cost to attend. For registration or more information please contact the Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office-Victim Services Division (520) 375 7780 with Carlos Clark, Victoria Betancourt, Brenda Ramos or Nidia Solorzano. Registrations starts on September 30, 2015 (seating is limited).

6th Annual Race Against Violence

Kingman Aid to Abused People (KAAP) Race Against Violence is inspired by those who have lost their life to Violence. 5k Race/Walk starts promptly at 8:00AM. Race will start at Metcalfe Park in downtown Kingman AZ. We will also be providing a Color Dash as part of the festivities along with Game Booths, Face Painting, Balloons and other activities.

Santa Cruz County Official Proclamation, Peace of March and Candlelight Vigil

Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office – Victim Services Division invites you to the Official Proclamation, Candle Light Vigil and Peace of March. With this event they are beginning our Domestic Violence Awareness Month in memory of the victims who have lost their lives due to domestic violence, in honor of all survivors and their families, and to honor those whom work against domestic violence. Please paint your own poster, t shirt or banner with a peace message or a message against violence. This event is open to the community. If you do not agree with violence, please unite with our Peace March. We will be providing flameless candles for the participants. 4th Annual Real Men Pump it Up, Mens Walk to End Sexual & Family Violence

Men’s 1 mile walk: from River Front Park to Rendevous In Old Town (RIOT). Sponsored by RIOT. Registration includes t-shirt and 1 beverage (ages 21 and older) @ RIOT after the walk. Walk will be followed by silent auction and raffle, all proceeds will benefit the Verde Valley Sanctuary.

Lights on Domestic Violence

Then hop the light rail to Roosevelt Row to check out the famous First Friday artwalk. Attire: Purple. Attendance is free.

Lighting Arizona Purple

Governor Ducey will light the State Capitol purple as a symbol of Arizona’s dedication to end domestic violence. Stand with the Governor as we say “IT CAN STOP”. Attendance is free, registration suggested. All Arizonans can join this effort and light their own homes purple.

7th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event – Speak, Share, Survive: A Child’s Journey

Join the City of Chandler Domestic Violence Commission for their 7th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event: “SPEAK, SHARE, SURVIVE: A CHILD’S JOURNEY” featuring an inspirational keynote speaker who has been impacted by domestic violence from a young age.

The Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event will be a kick-off to the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. It brings local agency representatives, community partners and citizens together to raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence in our community and learn about the resources available. The community is invited and encouraged to attend the presentation that will be held on September 16, 2015 at the City of Chandler Community Center. Please RSVP as soon as possible to participate in the breakfast portion. Breakfast begins at 9:00AM, Program begins at 9:30 AM with an Invocation by Vice Mayor, Kevin Hartke, Location: City of Chandler Community Center, 125 E Commonwealth Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225, Speakers: Keynote Speaker – Darnell Williams, City of Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny and City of Chandler Council Members are scheduled to appear
