ARIZONA COALITION TO END SEXUAL AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ANNOUNCES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
PHOENIX, AUGUST 3, 2021 – The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual & Domestic Violence (ACESDV) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Directors, Rubi Bujanda and David Newstone. Rubi and David both have extensive professional expertise, and will assist the Board of Directors in furthering the mission of ACESDV, creating a greater impact on the people, program members and communities it serves.
“ACESDV is incredibly thankful to have Ms. Bujanda and Mr. Newstone join the board,” said Jenna Panas, CEO of the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. “They both bring valuable personal perspectives and professional experience to the Board that will move both the agency and the state forward.”
Rubi Bujanda, an attorney with the law firm of Snell & Wilmer, focuses her practice on labor and employment law. The ACESDV’s mission is very personal to Rubi, as she was impacted by the issues that the ACESDV seeks to eliminate at an early age. As an adult, Rubi has a passion for supporting survivors and facilitating the changes necessary to end oppression and violence. Rubi is also involved in the community through her philanthropic efforts in community organizations. She has been a member of Los Abogados for years, performs pro bono work for the Florence Immigration & Refugee Rights Project and the Volunteer Lawyers Program, and served as a Fellow in the National Employment Law Council Academy for 2021.
David Newstone, a Phoenix-based public interest attorney, devotes his work to increasing access to justice for underserved and underrepresented Arizonans through civil litigation, public legal education, and administrative agency advocacy. David is Director of Legal Services at Defenders of Children, a statewide nonprofit organization that provides free legal and clinical behavioral health services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, and other crimes. David holds degrees in law and political science from McGill University, the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the University of Chicago.
ACESDV is excited to have Rubi and David on board and looks forward to channeling their talents and expertise to further their mission. Please join ACESDV in welcoming them.

About the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence
The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) works to dismantle oppression and promote equity among all people, focusing on increasing public awareness about sexual and domestic violence and enhancing safety and services for survivors. ACESDV was originally founded as the Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence in 1980, so that concerned citizens and professionals could unite in a statewide organization to end domestic violence. In 2013, the coalition became the designated dual coalition to address both sexual and domestic violence in Arizona, thus becoming the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. ACESDV provides training and technical assistance to responders, service providers, and community members, engages in public policy advocacy and public awareness initiatives, and provides direct services through their Sexual and Domestic Violence Services Helpline and online chat.
