POSITION: PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT & VICTIM SERVICES COORDINATOR
Location: 305 South 2nd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate with related paralegal / legal secretary experience or graduate of a paralegal program. Must have accurate word processing skills and ability to perform secretarial and paralegal duties and functions. The applicant should have a demonstrated interest in assisting low-income people and victims of domestic violence. Ability to speak and write Spanish fluently is preferred.
DUTIES: Open, close, organize, and maintain applicant intakes and client files; answer and screen incoming calls and communicate with clients and others on behalf of unit staff; coordinate domestic violence victim client services, including social service and legal referrals, crime victim rights information and surveys; draft legal documents, pleadings, and letters; maintain tickler system for cases; provide litigation and clerical assistance to attorneys; conduct unit administrative duties, including for mail, supplies, and equipment repairs; participate in outreach and educational activities; other duties as assigned.
