Time Out has a Legal Advocate position available.
Minimum Requirements: Associates Degree or High School Diploma or equivalent, plus minimum two years experience in behavioral health, or related field. Two years experience in a legal field preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR. Ability for fingerprint clearance from the State of Arizona, Department of Economic Security and, Department of Public Safety.
Primary Function: Time Out’s Lay Legal Advocate provide trauma informed approach in assistance and support to victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault as they engage with the criminal or civil legal system. Attend required AZ State training to be a registered Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) Application Assistant who assists victims/survivors determine eligibility into the program, determine if program will be beneficial to victims/survivors overall safety plan, and recommend victims/survivors into the program.
Lay Legal Advocates do not act as attorneys for survivors and are not able to provide legal advice in accordance with Arizona supreme Court Rule 31(a)(2)(A).
