JOB SUMMARY:

The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) Sexual Violence Response Coordinator (SVRC) is primarily responsible for providing training, technical assistance, and support to sexual violence responders and service providers, as well as developing evidence-based training curriculum to serve as best practices for sexual and domestic violence programs in Arizona. The SVRC will also be providing technical assistance on capacity building in sexual violence victim service programs. The SVRC is required to facilitate and participate in local and statewide task forces upon request and as appropriate, and coordinate sexual and domestic violence system reform efforts statewide.

The SVRC upholds the mission, vision and guiding principles of ACESDV.

 CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with ACESDV leadership on implementing major actions of the strategic plan;
• Provide technical assistance, support, and training to sexual and domestic violence programs, responders, and statewide community partners;
• Research and develop evidence-based curriculum for delivery of sexual violence training;
• Provide innovative solutions and ideas that contribute to the advancement of the sexual and domestic violence movement in Arizona;
• Analyze systems and support systems advocacy efforts when appropriate and relevant to sexual violence response issues;
• Participate in workgroups with key stakeholders to enhance identification and response to sexual violence;
• Act as a Coalition representative on statewide and regional committees, task forces and at community meetings;
• Maintain expertise related to sexual and domestic violence identification and response through training, study, and collaboration with professionals from across the country;
• Accurate completion of required department and grant contract reports;
• Provide support to and participate in ACESDV’s events;
• Attend staff and department meetings;
• Supervise interns and volunteers;
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required for all candidates:

• A commitment to ending gendered violence and oppression;
• Network-building capabilities, including the ability to do outreach and collaboration with diverse stakeholders related to sexual and domestic violence;
• Ability to gather and synthesize empirical research to develop training and resource materials informed by best practices;
• Experience working with diverse communities, such as people with disabilities, communities of color, and LGBTQ+ communities;
• Demonstrated team building, problem solving, creative/analytic thinking skills, and organization skills;
• Strong public presentation and speaking skills, and proficient with PowerPoint;
• Excellent written, oral communication, and listening skills;
• Willingness to travel statewide and nationally, when appropriate
• Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure, limited resource work environment.

Ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in criminal justice, gender/women’s studies, psychology, social work, public policy, or related field;
• Strong knowledge of sexual assault, domestic violence, and related issues;
• Strong knowledge of violence prevention, disability justice, and transformative justice;
• Experience with social justice work and social transformation advocacy/activism;
• Experience providing education and/or training to adult audiences, especially related to issues of sexual violence and/or domestic violence;
• Experience applying empirical research to real-world issues;
• Experience in direct services to victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence;
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
