MISSION & VISION:

The mission of the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence is to end sexual and domestic violence in Arizona by dismantling oppression and promoting equity among all people. ACESDV is based in Arizona and has significant, statewide presence. We are a non-governmental, non-profit membership organization that works with more than 170 formal members and allies to carry out our mission and objectives.

The ACESDV provides:

  • Public awareness about sexual and domestic violence.
  • Education and training about sexual and domestic violence.
  • Expert consultation and support to advocates and programs.
  • Sexual and Domestic Violence Services Helpline and information for victims, family, and concerned individuals.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence is seeking a Pass-Through Grant Funds Administrative/Nonprofit Intern. Details for duties and tasks are listed below. This is a great opportunity for (students) or anyone interested in nonprofit management, government grants, contract administration, and working with nonprofit organizations. The internship is part-time of approximately 15-20 hours per week (or increased around specific grant administrative deadlines). ACESDV offers full flexibility to create a mutually agreed upon work schedule with your supervisor. This is a hybrid position that may require some work in the office and some work remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative Duties

The ACESDV Pass-Through Grants Funds Intern is responsible for assisting in managing and tracking reporting deadlines for all ongoing grants awarded.

The ACESDV Pass-Through Grants Funds Intern will also assist in preparing the orientation/training materials, grant recipient hardcopy and electronic files, creating report forms, communicating with grant recipients, and researching further pass-through grant opportunities.

Additional administrative duties may be assigned within the department.

Grant Processing/Management

  • Assist in the preparation of Quarterly/Annual Performance Metrics Reports.
  • Assist with budgets and grant recipient expenditures.
  • Assist grant recipients in meeting reporting requirements.

Grant Monitoring

  • Assist with special projects, including research and analysis such as the collection and analysis of data provided by sub-recipient, documentation of results, and identification of potential issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports and related data such as the review of grant data.
  • Assist with the review of departmental financial records and reports to ensure financial compliance with grant agreements.
  • When possible, attend grant recipient grant monitoring site visits.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRMENTS:

  • Knowledge of the principles of management, organization, and administration.
  • Ability to use computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to conduct research and make recommendations.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to Multi-task
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, political affiliation, familial status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or gender identity and expression.
  • Knowledge of allowable and unallowable cost a plus
  • Major(s) in Accounting, Finance or Public Administration a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Interns must interview with the ACESDV Pass-Through Grants Funds Team. This is a temporary and unpaid/volunteer internship within ACESDV. This is administrative work that serves to offer practical experience and exposure to grant management. The Intern will have close direction and supervision from a supervisor/mentor. Work will be reviewed through observation of performance, performance evaluations, frequent conferences, and reports. The Intern’s workplace performance will be monitored on an ongoing basis. Interns not performing at a successful level may be given an opportunity to improve or may have their internship terminated. Interns that have the potential to receive academic credit based upon the institution’s internship requirements (Academic Credit is not guaranteed, approval for academic credit is the student’s responsibility). The volunteer intern is not entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship, and the volunteer Intern is not entitled to wages for the time spent in the internship.  The volunteer Intern is not eligible for ACESDV Benefits.
