End Sexual & Domestic Violence

Description: Schools should be places where students feel safe, supported, and are able to learn, but in reality, students are often subjected to sexual violence. Using various strategies, this training will focus on intersectional responses to sexual violence in education settings. Attendees will:
• Understand the scope of the issue
• Identify and analyze the most current Title IX updates and
• Recognize specific approaches different responders and institutions can take to address the problem
This training is appropriate for all responders working with sexual assault victims (e.g., victim service providers, criminal justice professionals). We also encourage victim advocates in school settings, students, school employees, and state lawmakers to attend. This webinar will be available in Spanish and American Sign Language.
About the Presenter: Elizabeth Tang, Senior Counsel, National Women’s Law Center (she/her)
Elizabeth is an education civil rights attorney at the National Women’s Law Center, where she focuses on ending sexual harassment in schools through know-your-rights education for students and families; policy advocacy at the federal, state, and school district levels; and litigation on behalf of student survivors against their schools and against the federal government. Before joining NWLC, she interned at the American Civil Liberties Union and the U.S. Senate and worked at Apne Aap Women’s Collective in Mumbai, India. Elizabeth received her JD/MBA from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. from Harvard College.
