End Sexual & Domestic Violence
The vast majority of survivors have companion animals who are critical sources of healing and support. Survivors who cannot access services that allow for pets may remain in violent situations. As victim service providers, it is important to provide a continuum of services that support survivors in all aspects of healing, including preserving relationships with pets. This training focuses on the traumatic impact of domestic violence on survivors and animals in the home, including behavior change among pets, and provides strategies to promote mutual healing for survivors and their pets.
