This 1-hour webinar will provide an overview of best practices for the medical response to sexual assault based on the revised 2018 Arizona Guidelines for a Coordinated Community Response to Adult Sexual Assault. Topics include an overview of pertinent federal legislation, the medical forensic examination and evidence collection, and suggested training for medical personnel conducting medical forensic exams.
Since 2015, the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family (GOYFF) and the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) have worked in partnership to update the 2001 Guidelines for a Coordinated Community Response to Adult Sexual Assault. The Guidelines serve as a resource to those who investigate and prosecute sexual assault crimes, as well as those who provide advocacy, healthcare, and mental health care to victims of sexual assault. This 6-part webinar series will provide an overview of best practices for
sexual assault response based on the revised Guidelines.
