End Sexual & Domestic Violence
This 2-part webinar series will serve as an introduction to sexual assault response teams (SARTs). We will discuss the basic functions and purpose of SARTs and analyze challenges that are unique to SARTs in rural communities and strategies to overcome them. Additionally, attendees will gain tools needed to form sexual assault response teams and promote community involvement. This training is appropriate for all responders working with sexual assault victims (e.g., victim service providers, criminal justice professionals).
In Part 1, the training will discuss the basic functions and purpose of a SART, identify the roles of major stakeholders, recognize best practices, and analyze some of the difficulties and challenges that are unique to SARTs in rural communities.
In Part 2, participants will learn about how to start a SART in their area. The training will cover who should be invited to attend the SART, strategies to promote community involvement, and how to develop a SART protocol.
This webinar series will offer simultaneous interpretation in American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish!
