LGBTQ+ Survivor Share Out
October 15 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
This event is hosted by the ACESDV Rainbow Collective and is designed to center and create space for LGBTQ+ survivors. However, we also recognize that people may be at different points in claiming these identities. Therefore, this event is open to all ages and identities, and you do not need to identify as LGBTQ+ or a survivor to participate. In addition, we will have identity-specific break-out spaces for youth, adults, and allies to foster safety and build community.
This virtual event will begin with a collective storytelling activity, which will prompt attendees to practice writing a story about their experience, this can be a story about an experience as LGBTQ+ or a survivor, but it doesn’t have to be. Next, practice sharing our story with two different partners. We will then break out into facilitated community-specific rooms to create space and opportunity for discussion. Sharing your story in a group setting is not required. Finally, we will conclude with healing-centered reflection and resource sharing as a group.
As a safety measure, registration for this event is required. Registration link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcpcu6gpjwqE9MTl6B3V4rX1OUqyoJ7L-bX
