This is a five-day, 40-hour comprehensive sexual violence advocacy training. This core training examines the dynamics and sociocultural context of sexual violence, healthy sexuality, and the facets of sexual assault response statewide. Participants will learn the foundations of sexual assault advocacy, including tone, rapport building, and crisis intervention, as well as professional ethics, privileged communication, and the traumatic impact of sexual assault. This training also covers advanced advocacy strategies rooted in the neurobiology of trauma and considering the complex needs and intersectional identities of survivors of sexual violence, including but not limited to LGBTQ+ survivors, immigrant survivors, and survivors with disabilities.
This is a five-day, 40-hour interactive, basic Domestic Violence training. This training will include topics such as: teen dating violence, safety planning, the effects of domestic violence on children, legal issues, dynamics of power and oppression, advocacy, empowerment, crisis intervention and self-care. This training is designed for professionals working with people and communities impacted by domestic violence including staff and advocates of domestic violence shelters, social workers, health care providers, faith based leaders, sexual assault nurse examiners, child welfare providers, law enforcement, attorneys, officers of the court, offender treatment providers and others who interact with survivors, people who abuse or children exposed to domestic violence.

This five-part webinar series will feature the Allstate Foundation’s Moving Ahead Through Financial Management train-the-trainer curriculum, a comprehensive package of tools and information designed to empower survivors to understand and manage their finances.
Advocates will strengthen their financial capabilities to better assist survivors in moving from short-term safety to long-term security and financial independence. Only participants who complete all five webinars will receive a certificate of completion for the series.

The monthly webinar series for 2019 will cover a wide range of topics that will inform advocates about the various legal concerns that often are present when working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Join us as we invite experts from around the state to discuss the diverse challenges and barriers survivors often face. Also to help advocates better understand the legal system.
