Collaboration

ACESDV hosts a number of collaborative efforts to bring concerned leaders, citizens and communities together to solve some of the most pressing issues facing sexual and domestic victims.

Community Partners Addressing Sexual Violence:
-Purpose: To create a space for sexual violence service providers and responders to network, share resources, and work collaboratively to improve sexual violence services and response. This group meets quarterly.
-Intended Participants: Any Arizona-based organization addressing sexual violence and/or serving sexual violence survivors. This includes, but is not limited to, family advocacy center staff, advocates, victim service providers, case managers, law enforcement, PREA coordinators, organizations addressing human trafficking, and culturally-specific organizations (e.g., LGBTQ, Tribal, elders).

ACESDV Regional Meetings (Northern, Central, Eastern, Western, Southern):
-Purpose: To allow for domestic violence programs and stakeholders to come together and discuss specific needs for your region regarding prevention, intervention, service standards, best practices and community response to domestic violence. The location of the meetings will be held in the community that best accommodates programs and agencies in that city and surrounding areas. These meetings are held approximately every other month, as the group is available.
-Intended Participants: ACESDV program members and/or community partners whose primary purpose and mission is to address domestic violence issues and/or provide domestic violence services. This includes case managers, community services, law enforcement, home visitors, shelter advocates, family advocacy centers, victim services, etc.

Urban CEOs and Executive Directors Committee:
-Purpose: Focus on activities/events of the programs, grants, policies, board issues, movement work, fund development and public policy. These meetings are held approximately every other month, as the group is available.
-Intended Participants: CEOs and ED’s of programs in Maricopa County, Pima County, and Pinal County.

Program Managers Committee:
-Purpose: Look at day-to-day operations and issues among programs including staff, grants, policies, activities/events, participant/client issues, and training opportunities for management level staff. This group meets quarterly with a focus on training. Networking calls will be arranged as the group and/or ACESDV needs.
-Intended Participants: Program Directors and/or Shelter Managers/Coordinators, of programs in Maricopa County, Pima County, and Pinal County.

Rural CEOs and Executive Director Committee:
-Purpose: Focus on activities/events of the programs, grants, policies, board issues, movement work, fund development and public policy. This group meets quarterly.
-Intended Audience: CEOs and ED’s of programs in rural areas/outside of Maricopa County, Pima County, and Pinal County.

The Legal Committee:
-Purpose: Identify the problems victims face in access to justice and fair treatment and take steps to remedy those barriers. Sub-committees are occasionally formed from this group based on an identified need. This group meets quarterly, with sub-committees meeting as needed.
-Intended Audience: Attorneys, lay legal advocates, law students, and others working to assist survivors of sexual and/or domestic violence in understanding and accessing any part of the legal system.

Rainbow Collective Committee (previously the Gender and Sexual Minority Committee):
-Purpose: To stand in solidarity with GSM communities and to enhance awareness, support, and response to GSM survivors of domestic and sexual violence. This group meetings monthly.
-Intended Audience: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people, allies, and interested and supportive community members. Learn more about the Rainbow Collective Committee here.

Communities of Color Committee (previously the Women of Color Committee):
-Purpose: Create advocate support systems within communities of color by collaborating with various agencies to create one voice to end sexual and domestic violence.
-Intended Participants: Advocates who identify within communities of color, indigenous or tribal communities. Download the brochure.

S.H.A.R.E. (Strength, Hope, Awareness, Respect, Education) Survivors Advisory Committee:
-Purpose: Discuss issues related to sexual and domestic violence, participate in community awareness events, and serve as a voice for survivors through ACESDV’s mission and purpose. This committee meets on the second Saturday of every month.
-Intended Participants: Any individual who has experienced sexual and/or domestic violence, stalking, harassment, or trafficking as an adult or child.

Speakers Bureau:
-Purpose: To provides survivors with an opportunity to speak to the public via interviews, panel discussion and at trainings to discuss their personal experiences. This group does not have regular meetings but does offer quarterly trainings to the Speakers Bureau and community members about speaking out as a survivor publically.
-Intended Participants: All individuals who have experienced sexual and/or domestic violence, stalking, harassment, trafficking, or were exposed to one of the above as a child.
