Coordinates and oversees the NACASA volunteer medical forensic examiners in those areas. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in clinical supervision and staff education/peer review Conducts case reviews of all newly created patient records from previous on-call shifts Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training new volunteer forensic examiners Coordinates call schedule for medical examiners in North Country clinics offering forensic services in Navajo and Apache counties Ensures that nurse examiners’ credentialing is current Provides presentations to the community regarding the program Communicates and interacts with the various systems involved with this program, i.e., forensic laboratories, law enforcement, prosecutors, hospitals Provides back-up, on-call support to the program Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED: SANE-A certified, or experienced – training provided. Current R.N. licensed in the State of Arizona Working knowledge of all OSHA safety and health standards relevant to the position and job duties Two years of prior nursing experience Prior experience with sexual assault and domestic violence victims Experience in management and/or independent practice Demonstrated competence in physical assessment, including speculum exams Cultural sensitivity to local population Demonstrated leadership ability Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills Completion of SANE basic 40-hour training in accordance with the guidelines established by IAFN within six months Integrity and empathy Independently mobile (must have access to reliable transportation in order to meet the needs of the program) Exhibits good judgment; ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires concentrated, complex and variable mental efforts, with emphasis on synthesis of information and written and oral communication Awareness of occupational exposure to blood and body fluids Documentation of updated Hepatitis B vaccination Current CPR certification Current documentation of Rubella vaccination Current documentation of PPD status testing PAY AMOUNT: $57,496.00/YR minimum plus for additional qualifications and experience.
